How A Casino Party Works
The term "Casino Party" is used to
describe an event where
people come together to play games commonly found in the
casinos of Las Vegas, Reno, Atlantic City, and Monte Carlo, but do not actually
wager money or things of value.
A casino party may be a private celebration,
held by a company, group, individuals, or it may be held as a fund raising
activity for a non-profit organization. In either event, guest arrive to find a variety of casino games available for their amusement. Guests are
usually given a fixed amount of script, play money, or chips.
Guests then
"wager" on their favorite games like blackjack, craps, and roulette,
etc......
Then test their luck and skill trying to outplay their colleagues during the
course of the evening.
At the end of the evening, the guests turn in
their chips
and a tally is taken. The person or persons with the largest
"winnings" for the evening, are often awarded non cash prizes. In
addition, auctions or raffles may be held to award the prizes.
Prizes can be as elaborate as a new car, a trip
to Las Vegas, or a weekend getaway. They can also be as simple as a dinner
certificate, an award plaque, or a gag gift.

Why a casino party?
Some of the key elements of a successful party are excitement, enthusiasm and
interaction.
At a casino party it happens..... it's there........
The
atmosphere of Las Vegas generates the excitement. Imagine this........
The announcement has just been made that the tables are now open for play.
People have been waiting to get to the tables and try their luck.
Wagers are made and the competition has begun. At the craps table,
cheering rumbles throughout the room as the dice are thrown. Come on
seven/eleven the shooter yells. The dealer calls out "seven a front line
winner" Everyone is now shouting "do it again!, do it again!" Moving
to the blackjack table you hear the players urging the dealer to bust as he
draws to 16, then the co
llective
grown as he draws a 5 to make 21. These scenarios typify the excitement and
action throughout the "casino".
How could a party like this be anything but successful?

The Legal Aspects
The most commonly asked question when people
hear
about a casino party is, "IS
THIS LEGAL?"
The answer is "YES"
What makes it legal is that in spite of the appearance of a casino, there is
no actual gambling going on. Its all fun & games. That's because
only play money is used - - usually in the form of chips, that have no real
monetary value. Chips are just a system of keeping "points" so that you
know who the big winners were at the end of the event. There are no
losers.

Company & Corporate
Parties
You may not be able to send your staff to Las Vegas, you
can however, bring the Las Vegas atmosphere to your company party.
Creating an excitement that your guests and employees will remember, and look
forward to each and every year.
A casino theme party is a unique way to tell your valued
employees, guests and / or clients how much they are appreciated. A
company may even consider awarding additional playing points (chips) based on
certain company goals.

A casino theme party also promotes an informal mingling of guests adding to
the excitement, over and above the typical "dinner table conversation".
Unlike gambling casinos, camera
s are allowed and encouraged by Casino Parties
of Utah. Think of the possibilities of those "candid" shots for your
newsletter or bulletin board.

Fund Raisers
Keep the FUN in fundraising!
One key to a successful fund raiser, is to create the fun and
eagerness to participate.
Organizations such as churches, synagogues, charities, schools,
and social / service groups have found that hosting a casino party is a fun &
easy way to raise funds for their cause.
It's not easy to ask someone for donations, nor is it fun to
just give money away, no matter how worthy the cause. A casino party is a
fun and easy way for the contributor to give to your organization.
By hosting a casino party, the pressure is off both you and the
contributor. Both have a good time in a low pressure, high excitement
environment. Both can walk away knowing that the nonprofit organization
has benefited.
Being creative in setting up a fund-raising event, will likely
increase the financial success of your organization. A few suggestions
include the following:
♦ Admission fees
(usually includes a fixed number of chips)
♦ Donated prizes
♦ Sponsorship of
gaming tables
♦ Additional
chips with expanded donations
♦ Raffles and
auctions
Sponsorship
recognition may be promoted by a placard at the gaming tables, printed programs,
literature, or simply announcements during the prize presentation.

of "high stakes" gaming.
Whether you need only one table or ten, indoor or outdoor

tables, we tailor the party to fit your needs.

Party Planning
Casino Parties of Utah is in
the business of creating a successful casino night event. We will assist you in
the planning. We realize that if your party succeeds for you it also
succeeds for us.
In the following we have listed a number of suggested steps simplifying the
planning schedule for a successful party. However, depending on the size
and complexity of the party and the time that you may have to devote towards the
program planning, it may be advisable to contact a professional event
coordinating service.
1. Number of Guests:
"BE REALISTIC"
The number of guests is a primary key, affecting location,
dinner planning, and entertainment accommodations. Accurately determining this
number can not only help to maximize the success but also to minimize the cost.
2. Date & Time:
"SCHEDULE YOUR DATE WISELY"..
Avoid conflicts with other major events that would
diminish your guest roster. However, keep in mind, with large groups, it's
nearly impossible to have all agree, you will find that all dates conflict
with something, don't expect to find that one "perfect" date. Note that
Friday's and Saturday's are usually the best day's and particularly successful
for fund raisers. However, weekday parties are usually easer to book on
short notice, and could be less costly. Corporate and private event
planners should be aware that December is a very busy month, most weekends are
booked early in the year, so plan well ahead for your December parties. We know
it's not always possible to plan that far in advance. If this is the case,
and you only
have a few day's to put your party together, call us, we may still be able to
help.
3. Location:
The location can vary widely, from the grand ballroom at
one of the finest hotels to a private home. In choosing your location some
of the keys are:
Accessibility - keep in mind winter conditions &
parking availability.
Facility - Large enough to accommodate your party
and activities comfortably.
Ambiance - If it's a black tie affair, or western wear,
you want the location to compliment the theme.
Budget - Early planning, weekday scheduling, or outlying
locations may help moderate costs.
4.
Decor & Theme:
For a casino theme party, the gaming tables basically provide the
decor. Additional decorations such as banners, large playing cards for the wall,
and other decorations can be added. Some hosts may want
their guests to dress in a specific theme such as the roaring 20's or western
gunslingers. Our dealers can also participate in the theme.
5. Dinner & Snack's:
When entertaining guest for 3 or 4 hours it is essential
to offer some form of food, refreshments, and drinks. This can
range from a sit down or banquet style dinner to finger food or snack's.
6. Entertainment:
A casino night is not only entertaining...... it's
exciting!
Leave the entertainment to Casino Parties of Utah, Inc.!
We will confer with you to find the right type of games along with the optimum
number of each. We want to see full action on each and every table.
7. Awards & Prizes:
Prizes can be as elaborate as a new car, a trip to Las
Vegas, or a weekend getaway. They can also be as simple as a dinner
certificate, an award plaque, or a gag gift. It's not necessarily the
value of the gift, but the thrill of winning that people enjoy.
Awarding of the prizes should take place towards the end of the evening, and
last only 20 to 40 minutes. Keep a fast moving pace to the end.
Fund Raising Tips:
There are many local merchants that may be more than willing to assist in
sponsoring your event, either in sponsorship of a gaming table, or prize
donations. Gaming table sponsorship recognition could be indicated by placing a
placard at the table. Prize sponsorship could be recognized by making an
announcement as the prize is awarded. In either case you should include
all sponsors in any printed materials.
